Meet the Team

David Lumb

Managing Director

 

David is the owner and Managing Director of Clearmake.  His extensive engineering and strategic management experience spans 15 years across the automotive, marine and telecommunications industries.  He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer (Hons) with a Masters of Business Administration.  David is also Queensland's sole representative for the Reserve Bank’s Small Business Finance Advisory Panel.

 

Andrew McPherson

Engineering and Operations Manager

 

Andrew heads up engineering and operations for Clearmake.  He has a Masters degree in engineering management and nine years senior management experience in industries ranging from recycling to manufacturing for some of Australia’s largest companies. Andrew is currently completing his Masters of Business Administration and in line with his operational responsibilities is focused on quality assurance and product innovation.  This guarantees Clearmake customers continue to receive the highest quality of products and services available.

 

Peter Mandak

Mechanical Engineer & Project Manager

 

Peter is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 12 years experience in the field of mechanical engineering. He has worked with Clearmake since 2005 with a primary focus on project management and system design. Peter received his training in Vienna (Austria) and has worked in Canada, Sydney and Perth before settling in Queensland.

 

Matthew White

Design Development & Project Manager

 

Matt has worked with Clearmake since 2007.  With 10 years construction industry experience ranging from Architectural design development (commercial and residential) , Hydraulic engineering design development (commercial & diploma qualified) and Civil construction project management (commercial), Matt offers clients tremendous attention to detail and a very well rounded set of skills.

 

Scott Carlile

Electrical Engineer (PLC Programming)

 

Scott has an Electronics Engineering degree, with a background in mechatronics engineering (robotics), control system design and software design.  With extensive experience in EC1131 standard PLC programming methodologies, Scott can make our custom solutions do almost anything.

 

Bill Mapleston

Chemical & Process Engineer

 

Bill is degree qualified in Chemical Engineering and Economics and has more than 20 years experience in industrial operations and process design across a broad range of industries. Bill has also participated in the design and construction of large industrial water recycling projects for both non-potable and potable reuse applications.  His extensive knowledge and industry experience are invaluable in the process design of Clearmake custom solutions.

 

Dave Green

Systems Engineer

 

Dave is a scientist (physicist) with a background in process design and management in both the military and private sectors.  He has worked with the Clearmake team since 2005 across operations, engineering, training and general management, making him the perfect candidate for his current role of co-ordinating the production of custom tenders, project estimates, quotes and designs while liaising with sales to make sure Clearmake customers get the information they need to make a well informed decision about their project requirements.

 

Scott Kruger

Mechanical Engineer & Draftsman

 

Scott holds a Bachelor of Engineering Majoring in Mechanical Engineering (Hons).  With experience in systems design and project management, Scott’s strengths are hydraulic design, LEAN manufacturing, Product Data Management (PDM), 3d modeling and Finite Element Analysis. His well rounded skill set and attention to detail help Scott integrate the design and implementation of Clearmake’s custom systems.

 

David Robertson

Electrician

 

Originally from South Australia, David has been a licensed electrician since 1990. Moving to Queensland in 2005, David has work on large infrastructure projects such as the Kogan Creek power station and the Western Corridor water treatment plants. Joining Clearmake in 2009, he is now the resident electrician at the Noosaville offices and works with project managers to ensure that all products and projects are compliant and that all products meet our stringent quality controls.

 

Pieter Luppes

Electrician

 

Hailing from The Netherlands, Pieter moved to Sydney in 1988 and resumed his trade as a qualified electrician. Over the following eight years, Pieter gained experience in PLC controls and automation, eventually moving to Queensland and into the water treatment industry. Pieter became a senior service engineer for one of Australia’s largest industrial water treatment companies. Joining Clearmake in 2009, Pieter has taken up the role of Site Supervisor / Electrician and has been heavily involved in the successful delivery of the ground water treatment plant at the new CLEM 7 tunnel under Brisbane.

 

Sean O’Callaghan

Field Service

 

A qualified electrician with over 20 years experience in PLC automation and instrumentation, Sean has worked in various fields from Robotic car manufacturing to process areas in the water treatment industry. Sean is primarily responsible for the regular servicing of Clearmake equipment.

 

Ashley Leader

Apprentice Electrician

 

Ashley is Clearmake’s 2nd year apprentice electrician and has been with the company since 2006.  Responsible for building, installing and commissioning Clearmake systems, Ashley is an extremely quick learner and a valuable support to our senior trades team.

 

Barry Manns

Apprentice Electrician

 

Barry is also a 2nd year apprentice electrician and has been with Clearmake since 2006.  Initially a workshop hand, Barry (and Ashley) learned more about servicing and installation before commencing their trade apprenticeships in 2009. A dedicated worker, Barry is a tremendous asset to the engineering and operations team.

 

Rick Newing

Workshop Hand

 

A tradesman fitter and turner with 30 years of experience, Rick has a Mechanical Engineering Tradesperson Level 4 certificate and as such a well rounded individual, can do almost any task required in the workshop.  Rick has been with Clearmake since 2007.

 

Maxine Roberts

Engineering Coordinator

 

Maxine joined Clearmake in 2000 after honing her administrative skills in hospitality and the real estate industry.  She has filled front of house, procurement and accounting/payroll functions and now brings her valuable knowledge and experience to the Engineering Co-ordinator position.

 

Rik Holdsworth

Business Development Manager

 

Coming to Clearmake from Melbourne, Rik started his career as an Electrical Fitter in the high voltage industry.  Almost 20 years ago he made the decision to move over to technical sales and has never looked back.  Rik has held senior product management and national sales roles with companies such as NHP, Fisher & Paykel and Ramset Construction.  This experience brings together the best of both world’s for Clearmake customers.  Rik offers incredible technical aptitude with a strong appreciation of customer service needs.

 

Zac Gill

Business Development / Channel Manager

 

Continuing his involvement in the waste water industry Zac has joined Clearmake to develop distributor relationships and provide a high level of service to national accounts.  Bringing with him an educational background in science, his industry knowledge and experience with managing distribution networks in both Australia and NZ, Zac is the ideal candidate to support our valued distributors and national customer groups.

 

Kellie Wilks

Sales Administration

 

With over 10 years experience in sales, Kellie possesses valuable skills in customer service, retail sales, quote preparation and event organisation. Kellie is a real people’s person, with incredible attention to detail and complete customer commitment.  Responsible for all administrative functions of the sales team, Kellie will make sure your product queries are answered and quotes delivered on time.

 

Melinda Lumb

Marketing & HR Manager

 

Melinda is responsible for the Clearmake brand and customer communications, bringing with her more than 20 years experience in business development and strategic marketing for companies such as Optus and Knight Frank.  She has also worked as a sales coach and researched and written extensive training material for an international training and development organisation.

 

Sarah Allen

Financial Controller

 

Sarah is responsible for Clearmake’s financial management.  A Chartered Accountant and member of the ICAEW, Sarah  trained with BDO Stoy Hayward in London.  She has also worked as the Financial Controller at The Italia Conti Academy Of Theatre Arts and  Group Holdings Accountant at Abbey National, preparing statutory accounts for the UK and US.  Sarah’s experience and sound financial practices ensure peace of mind for the Clearmake team, suppliers and customers alike.

 

Brett Chalk

Procurement & Logictics Coordinator

 

Completing a Certificate 2 in Warehousing/Distribution in 2000, Brett worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for five years. He further developed his skills working as a Stock Manager for a multi-national investment bank in London. Brett joined the Clearmake team in early 2009, bringing with him a wealth of experience and the skill required to establish a highly organised warehouse management system for the business.

 

Maia Bohler

Accounts Assistant

 

With more than 5 years experience in office administration and accounts, Maia supports the Finance team... and in fact, every other team within the business.  Although primarily focused on accounts payable and receivable, Maia’s multi-tasking capability supports every area of the business to make sure quality with a focus on the customers needs remain top priority.
