Cleantech Industries Launch

Last week was the official launch of the Cleantech Industries, Sunshine Coast.  A government initiative, the group incorporates local environmental businesses joining forces to promote and provide environmentally focused, sustainable products and services, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Sunshine Coast has the third-highest density per capita of clean-tech industries in Queensland behind Brisbane and the Gold Coast.  The group will help to promote these businesses to a broader market and look at innovative ways to improve market competitiveness and general awareness of local expertise. Bruce Napier is the group Chairman and the group is then broken up into three specialised sub-sectors with individual Chairmen, covering solar (Jock Howard), wastewater (David Lumb) and building design (Colin Irvine).

To mark the launch of the Cleantech Industries group, a tour of local environmental businesses was held to showcase local talent to local government, including Councillors Lew Brennan, Keryn Jones, Russell Green and Debbie Blumel, as well as representatives from peak industry bodies and local training and education institutes.

Clearmake Water Treatment & Recycling Solutions were a part of the program, with a tour of manufacturing facilities and a presentation from Clearmake Managing Director, David Lumb.
