Clearmake MD Recognised for 2008 Management Excellence Awards

Just weeks after industrial water treatment and recycling solutions provider, Clearmake, was announced a finalist for the Telstra Business Awards, Managing Director David Lumb, has been recognised as a finalist for the 2008 Management Excellence Awards. An initiative of the Australian Institute of Management.

David purchased the Clearmake business in 2007 and has invested heavily in its growth and development.

A mechanical engineer and MBA graduate, David has taken a more strategic approach to the business, providing more certainty in a somewhat uncertain business environment.

“I purchased the business as a result of its tremendous potential. Clearmake was well respected within the industry; it just needed some structure, more experience and a clearer focus to keep up with increasing demands.”

“Plus the idea of getting involved in an engineering business in the environmental sector was extremely appealing. We have a professional, experienced and skilled team, plus we’ve introduced greater structure and support with apprenticeships, junior mentoring and performance monitoring. Our business plan, goals and results are regularly shared with the team, plus we’ve introduced a profit share incentive to further motivate the group as a whole. The results are already showing and the future for Clearmake looks very bright.” says David Lumb.

Winners for both the Telstra Business Awards and Management Excellence Awards will be announced later this month.
