sludge dewatering

SLUDGE DEWATERING EQUIPMENT

A Clearmake filter press dewaters sludge, producing a very dry spadable solids cake (reducing waste sludge disposal costs). Normally incorporated into a water treatment or recycling system, a filter press delivers two benefits: it maximises the amount of water recovered from the sludge, increasing overall system efficiency while significantly reducing the volume of sludge and/or solids requiring offsite disposal.

Choose from a Clearmake Plate Filter Press or Clearmake V-Belt Filter Press, depending on your project needs.

PLATE FILTER PRESS SPECIFICATIONS

Treatment Rates
A Clearmake plate filter press is custom designed to your site specific requirements:

  • Can manage a flow of <250L per day to >250,000L per day.

Typical Applications
All industrial applications needing a solution for solid/liquid separation and those looking to reduce trade waste disposal costs. Examples include petroleum chemistry, metallurgy, coal washing, dyeing, pharmacy, light industry and environmental protection.  For more information and to view a selection of Clearmake project case studies, please visit our Projects page.

Features

  • Batch processing
  • Very high percentage dry solids cake produced compared to other types of dewatering equipment
  • Cleaner and easier to operate than traditional parallel belt presses
  • Relatively few moving parts

Construction
A Clearmake plate filter press is custom designed and manufactured to suit your particular application. The frame of the filter press is typically constructed from coated mild steel with stainless steel options available for longer life in corrosive environments. The filter press plates are manufactured from acid and alkaline resistant polypropylene.

Control Systems
All plate filter press control systems are custom designed so can be manual, semi or fully automated to minimise operator involvement and ensure reliable, high quality results. Systems can also be designed and manufactured to comply with the intrinsically safe requirements of hazardous areas.

V-BELT FILTER PRESS SPECIFICATIONS

Treatment Rates
Two treatment rates are availble:

  • Up to 1,500 L/h (approximately 18 kg dry solids per hour)
  • Up to 2,500 L/h (approximately 30kg dry solids per hour)

Typical Applications
All commercial and industrial applications needing a solution for solid/liquid separation and those looking to reduce trade waste disposal costs. Examples include food and beverage manufacturing, wineries, paper and cardboard manufacturing, light industry and environmental protection.  For more information and to view a selection of Clearmake project case studies, please visit our Projects page.

Features

  • Continuous flow
  • Cleaner and easier to operate that traditional belt presses
  • Relatively few moving parts
  • High durability belt
  • Automated polymer dosing available as an option
  • Able to be mounted on a skid or on a road registered trailer
  • Australian made

Construction
The V belt press is fabricated from grade 316 stainless steel and is suited to corrosive environments. The rollers use 316 stainless steel shafts and nitrile rubber coating. Coating can be changed to suit applications.  The belt is made of polyester.

Control Systems
Manual – Very basic controls provided. Allows the unit to be “stand-alone” suitable for manual control.
Automated – Fitted with Allan Bradley PLC equipment, the automation controls slurry depth, belt speed, belt wash and can interconnected with other ancillary items, making the system largely self-sufficient with the exception of basic maintenance.
